Hi, the person behind La Fenicia is me, Melissa.
Since I was a child I was always fascinated by repeating patterns. I loved observing nature, taking a pattern, repeating it and then coloring it with watercolors. I remember the feeling of thinking I was grasping some secret.
A few years ago this curiosity returned to me again and I wanted to delve deeper into the world of patterns, which led me to print fabrics using linoleum.
The creative process is the same as when I was a child. I try to capture the essence of the object, everything and nothing at the same time.
With these block printed fabrics I make everyday objects for our home. I like to be surrounded by them, they help me in the search for beauty and stillness.
“A heart that searches for patterns is a heart that searches for beauty”

I have a degree in fine arts, Ma in Art therapy and course of sufarce pattern design.
